From Ms. Christine -
Holland's been in a good mood today, but he's definitely been a bit less cooperative. It feels like it's a mixture of testing and distraction. When I ask him to do something or tell him we need to do something (i.e. close the refrigerator door, get shoes and socks, etc.), he often busies himself with something else or chases down another thing of interest. There's been a lot of redirection today.
We went to HEB and got a few vegetables and I let him walk and hold the basket. He wanted to be the one to hold it until it got too heavy for him, saying "heavy." After dropping in the onion and seeing on my face that it was too rough, he put subsequent things in much more carefully and gently. He didn't want me to hold his hand, but would keep walking away from me (and often into other people's paths), so I finally set him down to talk to him about it, which he was upset about, but just for maybe 10 seconds, after which he was more cooperative. We turned in some Buddy Bucks into the machine and Holland had a good time with it all - from inserting the bucks to sticking the stickers onto the booklet.
