From Ms. Christine -
Holland was using the tupperware a lot this morning. He continues to show interest in reversible actions and space (what can and can't fit). He was taking the lid off, putting a coin inside, and closing it back up. He had a proud look on his face when he fit the tupperware bowl into the pitcher for dog/plant water, taking it out and putting it back in repeatedly. He later brought it over to his high chair and tried putting it in and out of all the different openings. He would get quite frustrated when it would get "tuuuk!" but eventually, he would get it out (often by accident).
Holland continues to show interest in the pens up on the counter next to the stove. He enjoys the challenge of taking the pen caps off and putting them back on, but he's begun to be interested in using them to draw too. They don't work great for him because he often uses it with too sharp of an angle (he holds it too parallel to the paper), but I think he's drawn to everyone else's use of pens. I got some materials together and we played outside until he started rubbing his eyes and was ready for a nap. He had a tough time initially with taking the caps off, but I knew he could do it, so I let him continue trying. He would then take them off successfully, have trouble putting them on completely (making sure they snapped) and then show them to me for help to put them back on. He might have enough strength to do it himself, but he is not able to aim his energy so precisely yet. Also, although we thought he might be a lefty, it seems like he continues to use both hands for drawing and eating.
He also worked a little on balancing on the scooter, in line with what Rosalinda was saying about him on the balance beam at Lab School. He likes to challenge himself.
