Update from May 6

Holland spent a lot of time playing in the cafe this morning, cooking up all sorts of stuff - corn dogs, hot dogs, shrimp, french fries... He can really sustain focus on a task or activity if he wants to.  Although he peed in the potty after I arrived, he also had an accident while he was playing in the cafe (maybe 30-45 minutes later), telling us "pee already."  He's been using "already" a lot lately.  He seems to use it as his key word to indicate something in the past tense, since for the most part, he still uses the present form of verbs when he's talking about something he has finished doing.  Anyways, he didn't make anything else in the potty.  He struggled getting his pajama shirt off and got really frustrated, but finally got it off with minimal physical help from me.  After the ordeal, he immediately cheered up.  He put on his new shirt and pants with relative ease.

After saying goodbye to Scott, we went outside to water the seeds and shred some paper for the worms.  I thought Holland would be great at tearing paper since he seems to be destructive with lots of things, but he actually had a hard time tearing the paper.  He was using more brute strength, just grabbing and pulling instead of fine motor tearing, so he was just bunching up his paper and not having a lot of success.  I may give him more chances to do this to fill the worm bucket up.  While sitting on the floor working on the paper, he had another accident (maybe a little after an hour after the last accident.  I walked him straight to the bathroom and had him sit down on the potty.  He peed out quite a bit more.  Since we were out of underwear at that point and it was almost time for a nap anyways, I just had him go to sleep afterwards.  He's been sleeping since about 10:30.
