From Ms. Christine -
REMINDER – HAS PICS with this post
We let the kids do some water play with a bucket, some bottles we reused, and some old tennis balls. They had a really good time playing with them. Holland seemed particularly interested in pouring water into dirt and seeing how the water would soak in and disappear in the mounds of dirt, but make puddles on the flat areas of dirt. They came in, had a quick bath, changed, and while Holland and I cooked, Sofia did some watercolor with Tim. He was teaching her some techniques to create different shades and different colors with the paints and she was quite focused on it, creating some vibrant colors and pictures. Holland has been talking about "dau fu" for probably at least a week at this point after I cooked it for the kids. He really seemed to like it and continued asking for more day after day, even after we ate it all. Then he kept saying, "dau fu all gone? store? buy more?" Although he told me he wanted to do watercolor, when given the choice, he chose to cook. He stood on the stool watching me prep and helping me add ingredients to the wok. Afterwards, when eating, I thought it was funny that he tried to pick out extra tofu with the tongs for his bowl and ate all the tofu first. After a nap, Sofia made pancakes with Tim, mixing, pouring and flipping the cakes by herself. We had some pancakes and apples and did some more watercolor before the day was over. Holland peed several times in the toilet throughout the day and only had a pull-up for nap, which he peed in while napping.
