Update from Ms. Christine (April 25 2011)

Update from Ms. Christine & THIS IS A REMINDER THAT THERE ARE PICS for this post

Since Holland woke up late, we just got ready to go and ate something once we got to the Children's Museum.  He was in a good mood all morning.  Although the Children's Museum had a lot to offer, there was a "Ready, Set, Roll" exhibit, which had all these structures for rolling golf balls as an introduction to physics.  Holland stayed here the whole time, with two structures in particular.  It's really interesting to me to watch him play because he's like a little scientist.  Rosalinda mentioned that he's one of the few in his class that think of another move when they do "Copy Cat" and his creative independent thinking was very apparent as he experimented with the balls and structures this morning.  I love that he has ideas of his own, while still being able to follow another person's lead when necessary.  On the spiral, the sign mentioned how the ball would pick up speed as it went down.  He at first put the ball in the track and followed it around the structure.  It became too fast for him and he lost track of it, moving on to another ball.  However, at some point, he seemed to figure out how the structure worked and was able to start anticipating the ball coming back around to him on the next lower rung.  On the large U, he tried one ball on the shallower bend, and then tried it on the more steep bend.  He dropped two balls at the same time and watched them move.  He left balls at the bottom and dropped another ball to bump into it.  He left two balls at the bottom and dropped three balls from the high side.  All these things created different effects and he was engrossed in this for quite a while.  I've had Holland in underwear all morning and he has been great about staying dry and peeing in the toilet.  I had him pee right before going to sleep, and I think he'll be dry when he wakes up.
